Peru Mission 2007

On July 6th a contingent of 6 adults and 13 youth from the Beavertown Bible Church boarded a plane and headed to the South American city of Lima, Peru. The trip was a culmination of 10 months of preparation and prayer. The theme for this year’s trip was “fearless” and the missionaries all were faithful to that name as they fearlessly presented the gospel throughout the city. Schools, market places, parks, and churches were the areas targeted for ministry. The team utilized drama and personal evangelism to share the gospel with the people of Peru. The purpose of the trip was evangelism and God faithfully provided the results with 1,340 decisions made for Jesus Christ. Teaming up with I.E.P. Rey de Reyes (a local church in the district of Surquillo) the team worked tirelessly to take the gospel through many areas of the city. The people of Rey de Reyes cared for the missionaries and provided all food and lodging. “The food was amazing” stated one young missionary. Another attested to the love and kindness showered on all the missionaries. As the team prepared to embark for home a member of Rey de Reyes stated, “Your theme for the trip was fearless, and you went to parts of the city that we were afraid to go, from now on we too will be fearless”. On July 16th the missionaries returned home and exhausted but thankful that God had permitted them to be part of such a wonderful experience.
